Gretsch G6128CS 59 Duo Jet Masterbuilt Champagne Sparkle 2012

This Gretsch G6128CS Duo Jet Masterbuilt from 2012 is a special specimen that combines the classic '59 specifications with a dazzling Champagne Sparkle finish. With its Masterbuilt quality and authentic Filter'Tron pickups, this guitar delivers the legendary Gretsch sound in a visually spectacular package.

The Duo Jet was introduced in 1953 as Gretsch’s answer to the Les Paul, but quickly developed its own unique character. It became famous in the hands of guitarists such as Cliff Gallup and later Brian Setzer, who introduced the signature Gretsch tone to rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll. This Masterbuilt version honors the specifications of the original 1959 model, with every detail painstakingly recreated by Gretsch’s most skilled craftsman in their Custom Shop, Stephen Stern!

The mahogany body with maple top provides a warm base with bright overtones, while the authentic Filter’Tron pickups deliver that iconic Gretsch bite with crystal-clear articulation. The C-profile of the mahogany neck offers comfortable playability, and the ebony fingerboard with its 10" radius feels familiar under the fingers. The Bigsby vibrato adds that classic Gretsch expression, while the complete Masterbuilt package with certificate and case candy makes this instrument a true collector's item.

The guitar was built in 2012, and is still in excellent condition. We find light playwear on the pickguard and the top, with also light buckle wear on the back of the body. The bridge was also glued to the body by one of the previous owners. The guitar comes with a TFOA passport and a hardshell case.
