Michael Dunn Picasso Petite Bouche 2005

Over the past 50 years, master builder Michael Dunn has hand-built more than 500 instruments for a number of very prominent players, collectors, and investors!

Many of these instruments are an ode to the tradition of Django Reinhardt's gypsy jazz and Selmer guitars from the 1930s. This Petit Bouche, however, is inspired by Pablo Picasso, who also painted guitars himself and even built one (which is not working). The lines of this instrument bear a strong resemblance to the Analytical Cubism of the world-famous painter, a unique and visually impressive addition to the undulating lines of the Selmer-style styling.

Unique features include the two-piece ebony/satinwood back, ebony rosette, tailpiece with ebony/maple overlay, and the ebony armrest. The guitar possesses that typical sound that characterizes Gypsy guitars, and its unique stylized design makes it an exceptional eye-catcher. The guitar also performs well when amplified, thanks to the mounted pickup. Michael Dunn built this guitar in 2005, and the guitar is in very good condition, with various signs of play and a few dings on the top, body, and neck. Comes with a TFOA passport in a gig bag.
