Collings D2A HC Hill Country
With the new Hill Country Series, Collings introduces a whole new tone color to their acoustic guitar range!
With a powerful, warm fundamental voice and a dry character, this model delivers a tone with a full low end that feels instantly familiar to bluegrass players. At the same time, the responsive articulation of the instrument remains versatile enough for fingerstyle, singer-songwriters, and other acoustic styles.
This guitar is built with an Adirondack spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, providing a rich tonal spectrum with plenty of dynamics and that characteristic rosewood warmth. The body is finished with ivoroid binding and carefully hand-poured tortoise pickguard, rosette, and heel cap, which highlight the visual character of the Hill Country series. The ebony fingerboard features elegant mother-of-pearl dot inlays and has a compound radius from 14" to 26" for optimal playing comfort in all positions.
The D2A HC features the signature Hill Country scalloped X-bracing, a mortise & tenon hybrid neck joint, and Waverly Relic Nickel tuners with oval knobs that enhance its vintage appearance. The Honduran mahogany neck has a unique Hill Country profile that transitions from Modified C to Modified V, providing perfect support for your hand whether playing chords or melodic lines. The ultra-thin high-gloss nitrocellulose finish allows the natural resonance of the wood to shine through and develops a beautiful patina over the years.
With its unique construction method, this is a tone machine for the serious musician. The Collings D2A HC Hill Country comes in a deluxe case and is a perfect example of craftsmanship and musical refinement, built for players who seek no compromise between tone, aesthetics, and playability.
