Martin D35 Brazilian Rosewood 1966 #214944
With a dreadnought body, Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, the D35 is a guitar that feels familiar!
The Martin D35 is known for its fascinating history. At a time when Brazilian rosewood was becoming scarce, Martin found an innovative solution by using leftover pieces of wood that were too small for the D28 to create the back of the D35. The result was a three-piece back that was not only striking, but also delivered a deep and balanced sound that really shines when strumming and fingerpicking.
But that's not all - the real magic lies in the lighter braces that were added to the Martin D35 back in the day, making this guitar renowned for its unparalleled bass response. The mahogany neck has a comfortable 'round V' profile and is a joy to play.
This 1966 Martin D35 shows playwear and cracking that you would expect on a vintage instrument. The binding on the neck and body shows cracks in several places, and there are some repaired cracks on the back of the body, as well as some overspray. The guitar has also had a neck reset, replaced bridge pins, nut and saddle, but still has the original Grover Rotomatic tuners.
The guitar is in very good condition overall, and sounds as you would expect from a vintage Martin. The guitar comes with CITES in a hardshell case.
