Martin Custom Shop D18S Golden Era 1933 Ambertone #2866732

Martin's Custom Shop never disappoints us, as this D18S in Ambertone is a guitar you don't often see passing by!

This D18S is a perfect example of all the skill and craftsmanship that the Custom Shop can offer. Crafted to perfection, this guitar stands as a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship of Martin's Custom work.

The Martin D18S was produced between 1964 and 1993. This slope shoulder dreadnought with slotted headstock is a very different guitar from the standard D18. The ‘S’ in the model name indicates that it has the 12-frets to the soundboard configuration, which was the norm on the first (pre-1934) Martin dreadnoughts. The 12-fret neck on a large body produces a much greater bass response and a more dynamic guitar.

The combination of the Adirondack spruce top and the mahogany back and sides creates a deep and intense sound that can handle many styles of music and playing. Despite the 12 fret neck, it does not have a shorter scale, but the mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard has the usual length of 25.4’. The Modified Low Oval neck profile feels comfortable and familiar, and ensures that you can keep playing the guitar effortlessly for longer sessions!

The guitar comes with Custom Shop certificate in a hardshell case from TKL.
