Gibson L1 Anniversary Limited Edition
The Gibson Custom L 1 Anniversary Limited Edition in Cremona Burst celebrates 100 years of Gibson flat top acoustic guitars. Inspired by the original L 1 models introduced in 1926, this limited edition pays tribute to one of the most historically significant acoustic designs ever produced by Gibson.
Closely associated with legendary blues players and most famously Robert Johnson, the L 1 is known for its compact body, 12 fret neck and distinctive tonal warmth. It delivers an intimate, woody response with excellent clarity, making it equally inspiring for fingerstyle playing and flatpicking.
Built at the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana, this L 1 features a solid mahogany back and sides paired with a thermally aged red spruce top and traditional scalloped X bracing. The 25" scale mahogany neck joins the body at the 12th fret and features a Historic V profile, an ebony fingerboard with 19 frets and mother of pearl dot inlays. Cream binding appears throughout, including the top, back, sides, fingerboard edges, headstock and even the soundhole.
The headstock is fitted with three on a plate open back tuners with cream buttons and features a vintage style The Gibson logo in mother of pearl, along with a two ply truss rod cover engraved with Anniversary. The rectangular ebony bridge is equipped with carved pyramid wings, a bone saddle and bone bridge pins.
Finished in a deep and glossy Cremona Burst nitrocellulose lacquer, this guitar is limited to just 100 pieces worldwide. It is delivered in an L 1 hardshell case and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
