Gibson Custom Shop SJ300 Vintage Sunburst 2007
This 2007 Gibson Custom Shop SJ300 is a stunning example of how the Custom Shop elevates classic Gibson specifications. With its massive jumbo body crafted from Indian rosewood, a Sitka spruce top, and luxurious details like abalone crown inlays and multi-line purfling, this SJ300 delivers not only the powerful projection for which the model is renowned, but also the refined finish you expect from the Custom Shop.
The Gibson Super Jumbo series represents the largest acoustic guitars in Gibson's catalog, designed for musicians seeking maximum volume and projection. The Super Jumbo size was developed as Gibson's response to the demand for even more powerful acoustic guitars, with a body even larger than traditional jumbo models. The SJ300 is one of the flagship models in this series, with Gibson's Custom Shop adding the refined finish and premium materials that have made the brand so famous.
The SJ300 features a rosewood back and sides, which contributes to a warmer, richer tone compared to the maple typically used in the standard SJ200. It also features a distinctive abalone rosette and crown inlay on the fingerboard, and an ebony mustache bridge and fingerboard.
The combination of the large jumbo body with Indian rosewood back and sides produces a deep, resonant bass tone with crystal-clear highs thanks to the Sitka spruce top. Scalloped X-bracing contributes to the guitar's responsiveness and projection. The mahogany neck's C-profile offers excellent playing comfort, while the ebony fingerboard with a 12" radius ensures smooth playability across all positions. The LR Baggs Element pickup also makes this guitar suitable for stage use without compromising its acoustic tone.
This Gibson was built in 2007 and is in excellent condition. The guitar has light playwear on the top and pickguard, as well as light playwear on the back and sides. There are also some hairlines in the finish near the endpin on the backside of the body, and the back of the neck has also accumulated some playwear. This rare guitar is otherwise very clean and would make a wonderful addition to any guitar collection!
Comes with a original Gibson hardcase. This case has a lot of residu from protective material stuck to the outside. Case is otherwise in good condition.
