This left-handed Jazz Bass from 1976 has had a turbulent life, as you can see right away! The body, neck, and hardware show abundant playwear, making this bass a true player with plenty of experience under their belt. But be warned, at 4.8 kilograms (10.6 lbs), this bass is certainly no lightweight!

As one of the two prominent basses in Fender's catalog, the Jazz Bass is a familiar face in the music world. Fender introduced the Jazz Bass in 1960 as the Deluxe Bass, a design feature like the bound fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. The bass was eventually renamed the Jazz Bass because Fender believed the narrow neck would primarily appeal to jazz musicians.

The bass features a clear-finished ash offset body with a signature black pickguard and two single-coil pickups. It can be customized with the included chrome bridge and pickup covers. The maple neck is fitted with a maple fingerboard with binding and mother-of-pearl block inlays, and it's worth noting that the bass was once refretted to fairly large frets.

Fender guitars and basses from the '70s are characterized by the three-point neck joint, as can be seen on this bass. The single-coil pickups sound full and fat and can be controlled with separate volume controls and a master tone knob. The potentiometers have been replaced with CTS potentiometers from Allparts. As a true player, the bass is in good condition and comes in a TFOA gig bag.
