Epiphone Back to the Future 1955 ES345 Cherry Red

The Gibson ES-345 holds a special place in pop culture history, thanks to its unforgettable appearance in the 1985 classic Back to the Future. In one of the film’s most iconic scenes, Michael J. Fox’s character, Marty McFly, performs an electrifying version of Johnny B. Goode at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance.

Although the ES-345 was first introduced in 1959, it fits perfectly into the movie’s 1955 setting, adding a touch of anachronistic magic. This moment not only cemented the ES-345’s place in cinematic history but also made it a rock ’n’ roll icon.

Now, fans can experience that same magic with the Epiphone Back to the Future ES-345 – a faithful tribute to the guitar played by Marty McFly. It features a five-ply layered maple semi-hollow body with a solid maple center block for added sustain and reduced feedback, four-ply binding on the top, and single-ply binding on the back. The mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded C profile and a rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, finished with pearloid split parallelogram inlays, a hallmark of the original ES-345 design.

The 60s Kalamazoo-style headstock features a mother-of-pearl Gibson Crown inlay and script logo, while the back proudly displays a Hill Valley Music Store decal in tribute to the movie. Gold hardware, including an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Bigsby B70 vibrato tailpiece, complete the look. Just like in the film, the original Stop Bar studs are still in place. Powered by a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers with individual volume and tone controls and a mono Varitone circuit, this limited-edition model captures the tone and style of the legendary original.

Only 1,985 guitars will be made worldwide — a nod to the movie’s release year — so unless you’ve got a flux capacitor handy, you’ll want to grab yours before they’re gone.
