Aria Pro II PE175 Herb Ellis 1989
This is a brilliant jazz box, especially suited to bebop and similar styles, but fantastic for other jazz styles and blues!
For a relatively cheap price, this guitar is the real deal. Herb Ellis exclusively played his signature Aria Pro II model for many years, something that can't be said for many other of the jazz greats. The guitar clearly takes inspiration from the Gibson L5 CES, it also has fret markers very similar to those on the Gibson Super 400.
This 1983 Aria Pro II PE 175 Herb Ellis Signature Model features a laminated maple body with crème binding, two bound f holes, and a mahogany neck. It has a 20-fret bound ebony fingerboard with a “Herb Ellis” inlay at the 19th fret, three-per-side tuners, a rosewood-based adjustable bridge, an engraved "Pro II" tailpiece, and a layered black pickguard with “H.E.” initials.
This guitar experienced a neck break at some point in its lifetime, but it has been fully repaired, and the crack is barely noticeable while playing. Despite this, the guitar remains in good condition and is ideal for anyone seeking a fantastic jazz box without breaking the bank. It comes with a hardshell case and a TFOA passport.
