Powers Electric A Type Two Tone Mint Green/Fjord Green
When we first saw Powers Electric's guitars during our trip to Taylor, we knew immediately: we have to have them! And if the standard colors aren't enough for you, Powers Electric now has a limited series with extra cool Two-Tone finishes!
Most people will know Andy Powers mainly from his role at Taylor Guitars. In 2014, Andy joined Taylor Guitars as a Master Builder. Since joining Taylor, Andy has focused on refining Taylor's acoustic guitar designs. This has led to a series of tone-enhancing innovations, including his V-Class bracing, along with many award-winning models. But what Taylor fans may not know is how strongly Andy's passion is rooted in the world of electric guitars.
Alongside his work at Taylor Guitars, Andy has focused on a new solo project: his own line of electric guitars. Initially, Andy wanted to design an electric guitar that reflected the character and style of Taylor Guitars. However, according to Taylor founder Kurt Listug, this limited the potential he saw in Andy's project. Therefore, Andy chose to follow his own path, drawing inspiration from his other great passions: cars and surfing. From that combination, the first Powers Electric guitar was born: the A-Type.
This A-Type has an Urban Ash body topped with a select maple top. The guitar features a very cool Mint Green finish and further elegant details in the form of a firestripe pickguard and unique knobs made of layers of surfboard resin. The CamTail Vibrato and the steel bridge with ebony saddle, designed by Andy himself, are accompanied by two PF42 single coil pickups with a solid, clear sound.
The guitar comes in a beautiful leather soft case that completes Powers Electric's retro feel!
