Aria Pro II EP175 Herb Ellis 1982

This is a brilliant jazz box, especially suited to bebop and similar styles, but fantastic for other jazz styles and blues!

For a relatively low price, this guitar is the real deal. Herb Ellis played exclusively his signature Aria Pro II model for many years, something that cannot be said of many other jazz greats. The guitar is clearly inspired by the Gibson L-5 CES and also features fret markers that closely resemble those of the Gibson Super 400.

This 1983 Aria Pro II PE-175 Herb Ellis Signature Model features a maple body with cream binding, two bound f-holes, and a mahogany neck. It has a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with a “Herb Ellis” inlay at the 19th fret, three-per-side tuning machines, a rosewood adjustable bridge, an engraved “Pro II” tailpiece, and a laminated black pickguard with “H.E.” initials.

This great jazzbox from 1982 shows light play wear on the body and neck, as well as a few superficial dings on the top. In addition, the hardware shows light discoloration consistent with its age. This hollowbody is in excellent condition and is supplied in a hardshell case including a TFOA passport.
