Preston Thompson built his reputation on handcrafted guitars closely modeled on the dimensions and tonal qualities of the iconic steel-string instruments of the 1930s. From his small workshop in Sisters, Oregon, the guitars are handcrafted from start to finish, meticulously crafting the playing experience and tone of the finest instruments from that golden era. Preston Thompson passed away in 2019, but the dedicated team he left behind continues his work with the same care and standards.

The Thompson OM is classically suited to both fingerstyle and pick playing and is known for its responsiveness, articulation, and clarity! The combination of a solid Adirondack spruce top and Cuban mahogany back and sides produces a guitar that sounds warm and direct, with enough clarity and definition to let every note shine. The scalloped X-bracing contributes to the guitar's lightweight build, resulting in a direct response and rich tonal color.

The Regency Torch is Thompson's most popular headstock inlay. Developed by inlay artist Simon Haycraft, this inlay perfectly completes this beautiful OM! This OM CMA was built in 2025 and features two dings on the top. The guitar is otherwise very clean and comes in a TKL hardshell case with a TFOA passport.
