Suetin DN Kingfisher TFOA 25th Anniversary
In addition to the well-known major brands, we at The Fellowship of Acoustics are also big fans of small independent builders, because the guitars these builders create always have something special in store. We even know the builder of this guitar very well, as Yuri Suetin built this guitar entirely by hand in our own workshop during his internship!
This Dreadnought was built in honor of our 25th anniversary this year, and for this occasion, Yuri named the guitar the Kingfisher; the bird that is occasionally spotted by the pond behind our villa, and which is immortalized on this guitar in a beautiful handmade inlay on the 12th fret. Furthermore, the guitar is constructed from particularly fine materials such as Adirondack spruce, Indian rosewood, African mahogany, and ebony.
And it is not just the appearance that makes this guitar so amazing, because the sound of this Dreadnought is truly breathtaking. Every Fellow who has played and heard this guitar is impressed by the deep bass and lively sound of the guitar, which also feels like an instrument that has been played for years!
Yuri Suetin is a Russian guitar maker who is currently on a true musical journey from his homeland. Suetin trained in instrument making at the Musikinstrumentenakademien in Stockholm, where he learned the finer points of the craft. The journey from a pile of wood to a beautiful instrument is one that only truly talented builders can complete, and Suetin has clearly mastered this skill, as evidenced by this beautiful dreadnought.
This Dreadnought by Yuri Suetin is an unprecedented piece of craftsmanship by a very talented luthier, and we are proud that he has been active in our own workshop!
