R&R is name of the collaboration between Roman Zajicek of Rozawood Guitars and our own Rudi Bults of The Fellowship of Acoustics.

Czech luthier Roman Zajicek is known as one of the best luthiers in Europe, and his instruments are therefore known for their impressive sound and impeccable workmanship. For this 2015 SJ45, the guys went all out, resulting in a beautiful guitar!

The guitar has a body shape inspired by Gibson flattops from the beginning of the last century, and is constructed from a Brazilian rosewood back and sides with a European spruce top, and this combination results in a particularly interesting sound. Brazilian rosewood is widely praised for its warm and rich sound with a deep low and sparkling high. The spruce top is supported by a double X-bracing, and projects the complex sounds with clarity and sufficient sustain for a beautiful sound.

Of course, the most eye-catching aspect of this guitar is its external appearance, as both the body and neck are richly inlaid with the most detailed abalone designs. Thus, on the body we find the edge inlay inspired by the Martin 45 series, while on the neck we find a truly beautiful Tree of Life inlay. And to top it off, the body and neck also feature a binding of flamed maple.

That this R&R is already nine years old is hard to believe, as the guitar is exceptionally clean. There are light play marks on the top, back and sides and back of the neck, and on the headstock and back and sides there are traces of moisture under the lacquer in the form of a few white out patches. The guitar comes with TFOA passport in a case from Hiscox.
