PRS developed the Archon Classic in response to guitarists who wanted the power of the original Archon, but with a more vintage-oriented gain structure. Amp designer Doug Sewell deliberately opted for a wider range of gain flavors, especially in the midrange, allowing you to go from bright clean tones all the way to the edge of breakup without any external devices.
