For people learning or wanting to understand music theory, we have teamed up with one of Benelux's largest music schools to come up with the perfect, handy solution: OMA's Pitchcards!

Besides 'OMA' referring to the wise counsel of everyone's (Dutch) grandmother, it mainly refers to the 'Online Music Academy'. This is one of the largest music schools in the Benelux, where you can take lessons for voice, piano and guitar for a small monthly fee. You can take unlimited lessons whenever and wherever you want, and they ensure that new lessons are available every other week, while also providing personal guidance. 

We have been working with the Online Music Academy and its teachers for quite some time now. Since we have a music school ourselves, we got talking about music theory and the difficulty of this for many students. So together we developed a simple card game that revolves around the circle of fifths, chord variations (in major, minor and sevens), the matching guitar positions, fingerings and scales. 

Each card describes which chord it is, how to play it on the guitar, which notes are in this chord, which scale these notes come from, how many flats and sharps the scale has and what the parallel minor is from the circle of fifths. Included are six more help cards showing the scales, fretboard, finger numbers and the circle of fifths itself! In short, the perfect addition for any music teacher, rehearsal room, studio room or gig bag!
