This reissue was designed in collaboration with the famous blues and swing guitarist Mike Dowling. Like the original, National's El Trovador has a large, four-inch deep body made of mahogany; a wood known for its sonic properties.

The body is bound in multi-layer celluloid, with a matching purfling around the classic cover plate. An ebony fingerboard is paired with the solid mahogany neck, which is covered by an ebony headstock.
