Introduced in 1976 and rated as one of the most iconic bass guitars in history, the StingRay was the first four-string production bass with built-in active EQ. The Stingray 5 was subsequently unveiled in 1987 and has been an industry standard for bass guitars ever since!

The StingRay is the flagship model in the Music Man lineup and still features the same characteristics it had some forty years ago. The solid, road-worthy body with its iconic oval pickguard and ever-popular Music Man humbucker delivers a look, feel, and sound that are instantly recognizable. The sculpted neck joint provides unrestricted access to all 22 stainless steel frets on the roasted maple neck. The refined body contours are rounded for enhanced comfort in any playing position, while fully retaining the iconic StingRay sound.

The new and improved pickup features powerful neodymium magnets, giving the StingRay higher output and a wider tonal range. Combined with a newly designed 18-volt 3-band preamp for extra clean headroom, this bass is capable of everything from modern punch to classic, vintage tones. This StingRay Special 5 is finished in a spectacular Genius Gold finish.

This very recent 2025 Music Man still looks impressively clean and is in Near Mint condition. It only shows minimal scratches on the neck pocket plate. It comes in a case with a TFOA passport.
