The torrefied Adirondack top, which has undergone a special heat treatment, offers the resonance and response of decades-old tonewoods, with a warmth and openness normally found only in vintage instruments.

The hand-carved scalloped X-bracing optimally supports the top, so that every nuance of your playing is translated into a crystal clear and defined tone. The aesthetic details of this 0042 are as impressive as its sound. The "grained ivoroid" binding, herringbone purfling and the multi-line abalone rosette are timeless Martin features that underline the status of this instrument. The mahogany neck with a comfortable V-profile fits naturally in the hand, while the generous nut width of approximately 45 mm offers ideal space for complex fingerstyle techniques. The 632mm scale length provides a comfortable tension on the strings and gives the guitar a playful and responsive touch. The ebony fingerboard has a 16" radius and is decorated with beautiful abalone inlays, while the rosewood overlay on the headstock perfectly completes the visual harmony.

This Custom Shop 0042 is in excellent condition, and has only minimal playwear. The binding near the top nut and in the waist on the bass side has been re-glued, but it is worth emphasizing that the guitar is exceptionally clean! For amplified performances, this guitar is equipped with a K&K Pure Mini pickup, which faithfully reproduces the natural acoustic properties of the instrument.
