Mark Hatcher Greta Quilted Maple Bearclaw Spruce Lefty 2017
This Greta Grand Auditorium by Mark Hatcher is a beautiful, compact guitar that will certainly appeal to the left-handed guitarist!
The Greta Grand Auditorium features a 15 1/2-inch body with a high, narrow waist for optimal playing comfort. The guitar is perfectly balanced in terms of both grip and tone, and the sound is consistent across the entire fretboard. Versatility is the hallmark of grand auditorium guitars, and that is exactly what Greta stands for! The size of the Greta Grand Auditorium makes it suitable for a wide range of playing styles, whether it involves a subtle fingerstyle piece or a song that requires more power. The high-waisted design ensures that the body sits slightly further away from the player's body, making the guitar feel more compact and allowing the body to surround the player optimally.
Mark Hatcher is an American guitar builder known for his handmade boutique acoustic guitars, built with a strong focus on fingerstyle playing and individual expression. He began building guitars around 2000 after previously working as a furniture maker and builder of wooden sea kayaks, giving him a deep background in woodworking. In his workshop in Vermont, Hatcher builds only a small number of instruments annually, each handcrafted from carefully selected tonewoods. His philosophy views the guitar primarily as an art form: each instrument is voiced individually and often features original inlays or design details that tell a personal story.
This 2017 Greta is a beautiful guitar that remains in virtually new condition. The guitar is constructed from Quiled maple and Bearclaw spruce with beautiful details of Macassar ebony on the body and neck. The guitar is hardly distinguishable from a new one, and has a few very light scratches on the bass side of the binding of the upper bout of the backplate, but otherwise looks exceptionally clean. For amplified sound, the guitar is equipped with an LR Baggs Lyric pickup.
