Lowden O50 African Blackwood Alpine Spruce 2014
This 2014 Lowden perfectly illustrates why the O50 model is among the absolute top of the series: a masterful combination of exotic woods and refined details!
The heart of this O50 is the unique wood combination of Alpine Spruce top and African Blackwood back and sides. This combination produces a rich, complex tone with deep bass and crystal-clear highs. The patented Dolphin bracing system ensures optimal resonance and stability, while the 5-piece mahogany/rosewood neck with ebony fingerboard guarantees excellent playability!
George Lowden began his guitar-making career in the 1970s in Northern Ireland and has become one of the most respected names in acoustic guitar making. The O series stands for "Original" and represents Lowden's classic jumbo design, which he has been perfecting for decades. The O50 model is among the top models in the series and is characterized by the use of exotic woods and refined details. Lowden's guitars are acclaimed worldwide for their exceptional projection, balance, and ability to beautifully convey both powerful chordwork and subtle fingerpicking!
The refined details, such as the Tasmanian Blackwood binding, the abalone inlay, and the handmade rosette, demonstrate the craftsmanship with which this guitar was crafted. This Lowden offers both the power for rhythmic playing and the nuance for expressive solo passages! The guitar also features an LR Baggs Anthem for optimal amplified sound.
This 2014 Lowden O50 still looks incredibly clean and is in excellent condition. It has only minimal playwear, particularly on the back of the body. Two small cracks have been glued into the wood at both ends of the back, and the top has two tiny dings. Comes with a TFOA passport in a Hiscox hardshell case.
