Lowden F12 Indian Rosewood Sitka Spruce
The Lowden F12 is part of Lowden's Original Series, which includes the models that started it all for Lowden.
Designed with George Lowden’s unique and original bracing, these guitars deliver the signature Lowden sound: full, warm and dynamically responsive. With understated aesthetics and a focus on tonal purity, the Original Series is the genesis of Lowden’s tradition of innovation and craftsmanship.
George Lowden spent years thinking about developing a lightweight, bolt-on neck joint. A joint that would provide a very solid connection, but would not disrupt the natural balance of the instrument. The stiffness in the neck has also been reduced slightly by using a three-piece design. This also ensures that the natural vibrations of the neck are better transmitted. The result is a completely new model that still has the characteristic Lowden sound, but now also seems to be more versatile in terms of playing style, from bluegrass to fingerpicking to Celtic strumming.
The F12 has an Indian rosewood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top. A striking detail is the tortoise pickguard, and like every Lowden, the F12 is also perfectly finished down to the last detail with beautiful wood details such as the purfling, rosette and cherry bindings.
The F model offers the most balanced sound of all Lowden body sizes, which allows the beautifully complex, rich and piano-like sound character to come into its own. The tonewoods used provide extra warmth across the entire sound spectrum. It is the most popular Lowden model due to its size, which is between the small S and jumbo O.
The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in a Hiscox hardshell case.
