Gibson Les Paul Jimmy Page Signature Light Honey Burst 1995

The 1995 Gibson Les Paul Jimmy Page Signature Light Honey Burst marks the beginning of the first official collaboration between Gibson and Jimmy Page. This model was developed as a tribute to the Les Paul with which he left his mark on the sound of Led Zeppelin. With its warm Honey Burst finish, gold-colored hardware, and engraved pickguard featuring Page’s signature, this guitar exudes the atmosphere of the seventies, but translated into a nineties production instrument.

The basis is classic Les Paul: a mahogany body with an AA-figured maple top, combined with a glued mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The tone is solid and center-oriented, with a clear attack and sufficient sustain for both lead work and rhythmic parts. From the factory, this model was equipped with 496R and 500T humbuckers, which deliver a powerful and direct sound. The Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece ensure stability and a solid transfer of string vibrations, while details such as the bound headstock and gold-colored tuners visually complete the package.

What sets this Page Signature apart is its extensive electronics. Both the volume and tone controls feature push/pull functions, allowing pickups to be switched in phase and out of phase, set in series or parallel, and even used as single coils. This provides the guitar with a wide palette of no fewer than 21 sound possibilities that goes beyond a standard Les Paul. This first Signature model was produced between 1995 and 1999 and forms an interesting chapter in Gibson's history, in which an attempt was made for the first time to translate Page’s versatile approach to sound and circuitry to a broad audience.

The guitar still looks very neat with only minimal signs of wear on the body, but the finish on the headstock does show weather checking. The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in a Gibson hardshell case.
