Collings OM2A HC Hill Country
With the new Hill Country Series, Collings introduces a whole new tone color to their acoustic guitar range. The Collings OM2A HC Hill Country is an exceptional Orchestra Model guitar that pushes the boundaries of acoustic sound.
With a powerful, warm base voice and a dry character, this model delivers a tone with a full low end that is instantly familiar to bluegrass players. At the same time, the instrument’s responsive articulation remains versatile enough for fingerstyle, singer-songwriters, and other acoustic styles.
This guitar is built with an Adirondack spruce top and East Indian rosewood for the back and sides, which provides a rich tonal spectrum with many dynamics. The body is finished with ivoroid binding, a classic “zipper” backstrip and a carefully hand-cast pickguard, rosette and heel cap, which underline the visual character of the Hill Country series. The ebony fingerboard is decorated with elegant mother-of-pearl diamond & squares inlays, and has a compound radius for optimal playing comfort.
The OM2A HC features a fully adjustable truss rod, a mortise & tenon hybrid neck joint, and an aged bone cutthrough saddle, keeping the tone clear and balanced across the entire neck. The Honduran mahogany neck has a unique Hill Country neck profile that ranges from Modified C to Modified V, and is finished with an ultra-thin high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer that allows the natural resonance of the wood to shine.
With its unique construction method, this is a tone machine for the serious musician. Supplied in a deluxe hardshell case, the Collings OM2A HC Hill Country is a perfect example of craftsmanship and musical refinement, built for players who refuse to compromise between tone, aesthetics, and playability.
