Collings D1A HC Hill Country Sunburst
With the new Hill Country Series, Collings introduces a whole new tone color to their acoustic guitar range. The Collings D1A HC Hill Country Series is an exceptional Dreadnought that seeks the boundaries of acoustic sound.
With a powerful, warm fundamental voice and a dry character, this model delivers a full low-end tone that is instantly familiar to bluegrass players. At the same time, the instrument’s responsive articulation remains versatile enough for fingerstyle, singer-songwriters, and other acoustic styles.
This guitar is built with an Adirondack spruce top and Honuduran mahogany back and sides, providing a rich tonal spectrum with plenty of dynamics. The body is finished with tortoiseshell binding and a carefully hand-cast pickguard, rosette, and heel cap, underscoring the visual character of the Hill Country series. The ebony fingerboard features elegant mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and has a compound radius for optimum playing comfort.
The D1A HC features a fully adjustable truss rod, a mortise & tenon hybrid neck joint, and an aged bone cutthrough saddle, keeping the tone clear and balanced across the entire neck. The Honduran mahogany neck features a unique Hill Country neck profile that runs from Modified C to Modified V, and is finished with an ultra-thin, high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer that allows the natural resonance of the wood to shine.
With its unique construction method, this is a tone machine for the serious musician. Supplied in a deluxe hardshell case, the Collings D1A HC Hill Country is a perfect example of craftsmanship and musical refinement, built for players who refuse to compromise between tone, aesthetics, and playability.
